ColourChiefs Environmental Policy
|
|
EcoChiefsColourChiefs, with the assistance of Printing Industries, are implementing and promoting environmentally sound printing practices. Where possible we use recycled paper, soya- based ink and reduce our raw input including energy. Our main impacts have been identified as waste output and energy consumption; the environmental system we are implementing will address these matters to reduce our consumption immediately and continually.
We will comply with all applicable legal regulations including legislation, codes or practice and standards. Policies and procedures will be implemented to ensure continual improvement, these will include:
- Developing and maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS) that sets and reviews environmental objectives. Documentation will be produced and our environmental performance will be monitored.
- Training has, and will continue to be given to all staff and relevant suppliers. • Committing to preventing pollution, focusing on minimising the release of contaminants into the environment and the efficient use of raw materials.
- Disposing of all unrecyclable waste in an environmental manner that complies with local laws and policies.
- Communicating our commitment to environmental quality and performance to our employees, vendors, customers, and external stakeholders.
To continue our environmental efforts we will ensure the following implementations are sustained:
- Recommending recycled paper to customers
- Investigating ways to use more environmentally sound practices
- Increasing our overall waste that is recycled to the point where all recyclable
- waste is diverted from landfill
- Minimising amounts of non-recyclable liquids requiring treatment
- Recycling of all contaminated rags
- Recycling of all plates and aluminium
All management levels at ColourChiefs are responsible for ensuring that this policy is communicated and adhered to by all employees and subcontractors, and that it is made available to interested members of the public.
